physicians speaking about non-hodgkin lymphoma

Moffitt Cancer Center’s malignant hematology team includes several specialists focused on non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a common yet complex condition that requires carefully administered treatment. With many years of collective experience, our team has seen a wide range of cases – from situations where the very first round of treatment leads to a full remission to late-stage diagnoses and remissions. Our commitment to providing each patient with the best possible outcome – and quality of life – is put into practice each day by our non-Hodgkin lymphoma specialists, many of whom have been professionally recognized for their extensive expertise.

At Moffitt, patients don’t just work with a single doctor, but rather a team of non-Hodgkin lymphoma specialists including medical and radiation oncologists, hematologists, oncology nurses, social workers and supportive care providers. Each of our non-Hodgkin lymphoma doctors serves a different and vital role:

  • Hematologists often lead a patient’s treatment team, making individualized treatment recommendations based on their experience with cancers of the blood and bone marrow.
  • Medical oncologists provide chemotherapy and are also involved with the delivery of immunotherapy, when indicated.
  • Radiation oncologists develop and prescribe radiation therapy plans while also coordinating with a patient’s other radiation providers, including the radiation therapists who administer the daily treatments, the dosimetrists who calculate the require doses of radiation exposure and the physicists who ensure targeted and safe delivery of the treatments.

Each week, our full team of non-Hodgkin lymphoma specialists meets with the other members of our Malignant Hematology Program to discuss complex cases and make evidence-driven treatment decisions. This weekly tumor board meeting is one of the key differentiators at Moffitt, where collaborative expert opinions lead to the best possible outcomes.

Call 1-888-663-3488 or submit a new patient registration form online to request an appointment with our Hodgkin or non-Hodgkin lymphoma specialists. You can schedule a consultation with or without a doctor’s referral.
