Non-Therapeutic Research Office (NTRO)

The Non-Therapeutic Research Office (NTRO) was created in October 2021 to centralize all non-therapeutic research at the institution. NTRO supports, on average, 700 studies, 140 team members and all faculty that participate in research across the institution.
NTRO supports a variety of study types and there are different managers/supervisors to support each area. Types of studies include but are not limited to clinical, community-based studies, studies supported by our PEARL facility (Population Engagement and Research Laboratory), and in addition, there is a non-therapeutic activation team to quickly activate studies for implementation.
NTRO staff work closely with the faculty to adhere to the research protocols and ensure compliance with participants, biospecimens and data. Faculty fund NTRO staff and ensure that all study-specific needs are met.
