Interventional pain management services are available at Moffitt Cancer Center. For cancer patients who are experiencing discomfort as a result of their diagnoses or treatment side effects, we offer a variety of effective techniques to relieve and manage various forms of chronic and acute pain. Our goal is to help our patients improve their function, minimize their need for medications and achieve a better quality of life.

Moffitt’s highly focused, multidisciplinary team is skilled in providing a range of pain management techniques designed to provide effective, potent analgesia. We understand that each patient’s pain is unique, so we create individualized treatment plans using evidence-based medicine to help patients:

  • Learn to cope with pain
  • Find relief by reducing the duration and severity of the discomfort
  • Resolve sleep problems
  • Achieve greater function, allowing them to participate in the activities they enjoy
  • Overcome isolation
  • Facilitate recovery
  • Enhance their quality of life

Moffitt also offers patients various forms of supportive care, which are administered by members of our Integrative Medicine Program. For instance, many patients find therapies like acupuncture, therapeutic massage and meditation to be beneficial as forms of non-pharmaceutical pain management.

At Moffitt, we are committed to delivering excellent patient care, conducting extensive research and promoting world-class education. We are a proud participant and training site for physicians in the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, including the Pain Medicine fellowship program, the Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency program, and the Neurology residency program.
