The Research Trainee experience encompasses work in the wet and dry lab setting to provide an opportunity for an individual to gain knowledge in a particular skill. While they provide an education and training experience, they may or may not be officially associated with a degree granting program. The experience is to be aligned with their educational goals and prepare them for their next career step, whether the educational experiences are short or long term. The Research Trainee positions are unpaid or include a small stipend and require a minimum of eight weeks and maximum of one year. Some internships are renewable pending the nature of the project and the appropriate review process.

The major trainee positions are:
Research Trainee (Dry or Wet Lab)
Research Visiting Scholar (Dry or Wet Lab)
Academic Collaborator
