The Business of Biotech conference began in 2006 and has become a signature event in Tampa Bay. Today the conference attracts over 400 biotech executives, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors and researchers from across the U.S. and is a unique opportunity to meet and collaborate with the innovators of our age.

The conference connects biotech executives, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors and researchers to discuss the latest advances in cancer care. Thursday's Partnering Forum is an invitation-only event, and Friday's conference and exhibits are currently closed for registration.

    Partnering Forum Meetings are by invite only. 

    The partnering forum fosters augmented connection with faculty in a one-on-one setting. These discussions routinely advance current projects and encourage the exploration of new collaborations. 

    Meetings will be setup in advance by the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Meetings for the 2024 event have been filled, but we always looking for collaborators. Please contact us at innovation@moffitt.org to ask about meeting with Moffitt faculty or business leaders.

Robert Bradway

Robert Bradway - Biotechnology Keynote

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Amgen

Robert A. Bradway is the Chairman and CEO of Amgen. He has held various positions within Amgen since joining the company in 2006. Bradway currently serves as a board member for The Boeing Company, the W. M. Keck Foundation, the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), while also being a member of the American Heart Association CEO Roundtable. Bradway also has experience in academia where he serves on the board of trustees for the University of Southern California. In addition to his current positions, Bradway previously served as a managing director at Morgan Stanley in London.

Krystyna Kowalczyk - Guest Host

OncoBay Clinical

Krystyna Kowalczyk is President and CEO of OncoBay Clinical. Krystyna has spent over 30 years in the research industry starting in translational research and progressive management roles in both small and large CROs. Prior to OncoBay, Krystyna founded Novella Clinical, subsequently acquired by IQVIA, and founded Optimal Research Oncology, subsequently acquired by PPD. With a history of successfully building research organizations, she was engaged by Moffitt Cancer Center in 2019 to translate Moffitt's vision of a therapeutically specialized CRO facilitating excellence in research into a business reality. Under her leadership, OncoBay grew from concept to revenues more than $20 million in under 3 years.

Cathie Wood is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of ARK Investment Management LLC. Prior to her time at ARK, Ms. Wood spent 12 years at AllianceBernstein as Chief Investment Officer of Global Thematic Strategies. Ms. Wood joined Alliance Capital from Tupelo Capital Management, a hedge fund she co-founded which managed $800 million in global thematic strategies. Prior to her tenure at Tupelo Capital, she worked for 18 years with Jennison Associates as Chief Economist, Equity Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager and Director. Ms. Wood started her career in Los Angeles, California at The Capital Group as an Assistant Economist.

Lisa Detanna is the Managing Director and Senior Vice President, Investments for Raymond James. Throughout her more than 30 years of experience, Lisa has established herself as a knowledgeable guide for family offices, multigenerational families, and high-net-worth clients. During her tenure at Raymond James, Lisa has earned several accolades. Barron's has recognized Lisa as one of America's Top 100 Women Advisors (2016-2021) and one of America's Top 1,200 Advisors (2019-2021). She was also named to the Financial Times' 2019 list of the top 400 advisors. Lisa has been at Raymond James since 2011, previously holding Senior Vice President positions at Wedbush, Citi Smith Barney, Morgan Stanley and Imperial Capital.
