Moffitt Cancer Center’s Supportive Care Program is dedicated to the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our patients. That’s why we make it a priority to seamlessly integrate supportive care in our cancer treatment plans. As a referring health care provider, you can have full assurance that your patient and his or her family will be given the comprehensive support they need to face the unique challenges of cancer with confidence. Our team is led by experienced and compassionate supportive care medicine specialists, including physicians, advance practice providers, nurses, clinical psychologists, dietitians and other professionals, who collaborate to help enhance each patient’s quality of life throughout every stage of the cancer treatment process.

The importance of supportive care in cancer treatment

At Moffitt, we know cancer affects patients on more than just a cellular level. It takes an personal toll, as well. That’s why we provide interdisciplinary supportive care in the same location as clinical treatment to ensure easy access to these important services. Our goal is to treat the whole person – not just the disease – and provide expert guidance for whatever obstacles a patient may encounter during treatment.

Our supportive care medicine specialists are usually available to speak with patients within just a few days after they receive a referral, so your patient will receive the care he or she needs in a timely manner.
