Once again, Moffitt Cancer Center is the only Florida-based health system included in the annual DiversityInc Top Hospitals & Health Systems list in 2023. The organization that celebrates diversity in corporate America unveiled its lists on May 2 during a ceremony in New York. Moffitt is 10^th on the list this year.

“Diversity, equity and inclusion are important elements of our strategy for tackling our mission of preventing and curing cancer at Moffitt,” said Cathy Grant, vice president, chief diversity, equity & inclusion officer of Enterprise Equity. “This recognition by DiversityInc is an acknowledgment of the cancer center’s efforts to ensure an environment where all team members, patients and communities are able to thrive.”

This rigorous, data-based annual evaluation recognizes U.S. employers for their excellence in promoting workplace fairness through talent strategy, supplier diversity practices and philanthropic engagement.

Moffitt made not only the Top Hospitals & Health Systems list, but also ranked No. 10 in the Top Regional Companies category. This list honors organizations whose business and impact are at the local and regional level. This is the first time Moffitt has been named one of the Top Regional Companies and is the only cancer center to be included.

The list results are derived exclusively from survey submissions from employers with at least 750 employees in the United States. Companies are evaluated within the context of their own industries on verified policies, practices and procedures.

DiversityInc’s specialty lists assess companies on a metrics-driven evaluation without a preconceived set number of companies on each list. They are evaluated on group performance, and the cutoff takes place where there is a significant difference between the top companies and the next runner-up.
