Moffitt established Centers of Excellence in key areas to promote synergy and translation across research and clinical programs. They provide a framework for cross-cutting innovative research to enhance basic, prevention, and clinical discoveries in a focused area of cancer.

The DeBartolo Family Personalized Medicine Institute was established at Moffitt in 2012 to create and accelerate the discovery and delivery of personalized approaches to the treatment and prevention of cancer.

The Population Engagement and Research Laboratory expands precision interception research across the cancer continuum, providing a national model for transdisciplinary, multi-level research that can improve health equity and cancer-related outcomes.

With strong leadership and philanthropic support, the Centers of Excellence and the DeBartolo Family Personalized Medicine Institute support high-impact, transdisciplinary teams that emphasize translation of findings into new preventative measures, more effective treatments, and ultimately a cure.
