If you have been diagnosed with anal cancer, don’t rely on the expertise of just one specialist – trust your health to an entire team of experts at Moffitt Cancer Center. In a single location, patients within our Gastrointestinal Oncology Program are treated by a multispecialty team that includes medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons, pathologists, endoscopy specialists and other professionals, all of whom focus exclusively on treating anal and other gastrointestinal cancers. From screening to survivorship, our patients receive individualized attention and comprehensive support.

Moffitt’s Gastrointestinal Oncology Program is among the most esteemed in the country. There are several factors that contribute to our status as a world-class cancer center, including our:

  • Experience – Our physicians within our anal cancer program have a unique level of experience treating even the most rare and complex cancers. And, when it comes to achieving a successful outcome and a positive quality of life, this experience can make all the difference.
  • Tumor board – All new patients’ cases are reviewed by Moffitt’s tumor board. This multispecialty team collaborates to design individualized treatment plans for each of our patients, and refine plans as necessary according to the patient’s progress and specific needs.
  • Clinical trials – Through Moffitt’s robust clinical trial program, our patients have access to the latest developments in treatment for anal cancer and other malignancies. Our commitment to advancing cancer research is evidenced by our designation of Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute – the only one based in Florida.

Moffitt treatment teams also include supportive care professionals – such as dietitians, social workers and pain management specialists – to help ease the physical and emotional side effects of cancer treatment, allowing us to provide comprehensive treatment and supportive care all in the same location.
