Specialists in the GYN department

Moffitt Cancer Center’s gynecologic oncology specialists serve women throughout the U.S. who have been diagnosed with disorders of the female reproductive system, including ovarian, cervical, uterine and vaginal cancers, as well as gynecologic sarcomas and germ cell tumors. Thousands of referring physicians turn to us to ensure their patients receive the precision diagnostic services and highly specialized treatments they need and deserve.

Moffitt’s gynecologic cancer treatment team

A distinguishing factor of Moffitt’s program is our multispecialty approach to cancer treatment. Led by Robert Wenham, MD, MS, the clinic includes gynecologic oncologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons and other professionals who focus exclusively on female reproductive cancers. This allows us to provide tailored treatments for women with all types of gynecologic cancers, even complex and uncommon malignancies that other physicians may only see a handful of times throughout their careers.

Moffitt’s gynecologic oncology specialists leverage the latest advances in treatment, including targeted radiation therapy, immunotherapies and robotic-assisted surgery, with treatment choices that may preserve fertility and sexual function. And, because we won’t be satisfied until there is a cure for every woman, we spearhead ambitious research initiatives and clinical trials that allow our patients to receive emerging new therapies before those options are made widely available. The efforts of our researchers have led to recognition from the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center, and we are the only such center based in Florida.
