Luis Roberto Pena, MD, FACG, AGAF

Dr. Peña earned his MD degree at Francisco Marroquin University School of Medicine in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He completed an Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center. Dr. Peña joins us from the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center where he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Digestive Diseases and Nutrition. He also served as the Medical Director, Digestive Health Program Clinic. Dr. Peña’s Clinical and research interests’ include the treatment for Barrett’s esophagus using endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and radiofrequency ablation, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for bilary and pancreatic disorders and cancer, enteral stenting and wireless capsule endoscopy for small bowel evaluation. Additional research interests include Endoscopic outcomes, capsule endoscopy and Barrett’s esophagus.
