National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer centers, including Moffitt Cancer Center, LUNGevity Foundation, Stand Up To Cancer and PlatformQ Health have forged a collaboration to address diversity disparities in clinical trial participation and have created an expert panel discussion video on diversity in lung cancer trials to help clinicians understand communication gaps that impede trial enrollment and help patients gain insights into the value of clinical trials.
The video "Are Clinical Trials for Me?" is a free, one-hour online educational session led by experts from Moffitt Cancer Center including thoracic medical oncologist and clinical scientist Jhanelle Gray, MD; Associate Center Director of Community Outreach, Engagement, and Equity Susan Vadaparampil, PhD, MPH; and Director of Interventional Pulmonology Amit Tandon, MD, along with a lung cancer patient who share their firsthand clinical trial experience.
