Lung Cancer Awareness Month Events

In November, the Lung and Thoracic Tumor Education (LATTE) Program will be hosting a series of events for Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Please join us for the following:

10/24 Sign up for the Charlie’s Angels (in memory of Dr. Charles Williams) Miles for Moffitt Team

Help Moffitt accelerate its mission of prevention, treatment, and cure of cancer by joining or donating to the Charlie’s Angels Team

11/3: Lung Cancer Awareness Month White-Out

Join the Thoracic staff in wearing all white on Tuesday, November 3rd to honor lung cancer fighters. Buttons will be provided in the Thoracic Clinic from 9:00 am - 12:00 am to kick off Lung Cancer Awareness Month.

11/3, 11/4, 11/5: Get Creative with the Arts in Medicine Program

Help us raise awareness of lung cancer by constructing an origami butterfly with Arts in Medicine. All butterflies will be used in an impactful art installation to represent the number of new cases of lung cancer.

To participate, stop by the Thoracic Clinic
November 3rd, 10:00 – 11:30 am
November 4th, 9:30 – 10:30 am
November 5th, 12:30 – 2:00 pm

Unable to make clinic times? Stop by the Arts in Medicine Department anytime during the months of October and November to create a butterfly.

11/11: All Things Thoracic Virtual Town Hall

Take a look inside the innovation and achievements the Thoracic Program has made possible this year. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in productive discussions with Thoracic Program providers, researchers, and staff from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm

Coping with Lung Cancer Virtual Support Group- Lung Cancer During the Stressors of COVID-19 and the Holiday Season 

The Thoracic Program is here to support you through your journey. Join our Social Workers in a virtual Support Group for individuals affected by lung cancer from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

11/16: Lung Cancer Research Table

Stop by the research table in the Thoracic Clinic from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm to learn about lung cancer research and more. Educational material and give-a-ways will be provided.
