The Department of Nursing Research engages nurses in all roles and settings in the conduct of research to improve the health and care of oncology patients and their family members. Nurse Scientists collaborate with other disciplines for the successful implementation of research endeavors.

The department’s infrastructure supports the education and mentoring of nurses from research idea proposal to dissemination. This is in direct support of the Center’s Nursing Philosophy which includes contributing to the advancement of the profession, sharing our specialized knowledge, and advancing oncology nursing practice through the conduct of nursing research and the dissemination of study findings to internal and external publics.

Mission:
Our mission is to strengthen the culture of inquiry at the Moffitt Cancer Center with the conduct and dissemination of nursing research to advance the science of oncology nursing care.
