Cholangiocarcinoma (Bile Duct Cancer), Gallbladder Cancer, Liver (Hepatocellular) Cancer, Pancreatic CancerDr. Jaekyung Cheon is an Associate Member in the Department of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Cheon received her MD degree from Hallym University College of Medicine and earned a Master's degree in Internal Medicine from Ulsan University College of Medicine, South Korea. She completed her Residency in Internal Medicine and Clinical Oncology Fellowship at Asan Medical Center, one of South Korea's leading academic medical centers.
Before joining to Moffitt in 2026, Dr. Cheon held faculty appointments at Ulsan University Hospital, CHA Bundang Medical Center (CHA University) and Asan Medical Center (Ulsan University). Prior to her faculty appointment at Moffitt, she also served as a Research Scholar at Moffitt Cancer Center in 2025.
Dr. Cheon has led and collaborated on multiple investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials. She has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications including JAMA Oncology, The Lancet Oncology, Clinical Cancer Research, Journal of Hepatology and Liver Cancer.
Dr. Cheon’s clinical and research interests focus on hepatocellular carcinoma, biliary tract cancer and pancreatic cancer.
