WHO:             The Moffitt Healthy KIDZ Program is a community outreach program offered by Moffitt Cancer Center for children and adolescents focusing on cancer prevention, healthy living and careers in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math). Moffitt Healthy KIDZ has been providing educational programs for the mind and body throughout the greater Tampa Bay area for more than 12 years.

WHAT:          The Moffitt Healthy KIDZ Role Model Awards will present 12 $2,000 scholarships for higher education to graduating seniors who excel in STEAM. Nearly 60 area students applied for the scholarships by writing a 500-word essay on how they would change an experience from high school to better themselves and other students.

                        Mayor Elect Jane Castor, Hillsborough County Superintendent Jeff Eakins, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, NBA referee Lauren Holtkamp and Moffitt Chief Financial and Administrative Officer Yvette Tremonti will present the scholarships.
