Moffitt Cancer Center is a not-for-profit corporation organized under the Florida statute. The Institute serves as the parent corporation and primary planning entity for the Moffitt Cancer Center system, which includes three other not-for-profit subsidiaries – a hospital, foundation and physician practice group – and two for-profit subsidiaries – a technology commercialization corporation and a biotech research corporation.

As such, Institute Board (Parent Board) members establish the system-wide mission, strategic plan, and operational and financial standards and policies. It also coordinates system affairs.

    TCS’s primary responsibility is the fulfillment of subscriptions for the Time Inc. family of magazines, the National Geographic Society, American Express, Kiplinger, National Wildlife, Wenner Media, Foreign Affairs, Smithsonian, and The Week. In 2017, Tim was awarded the Celebration of Service Award for Trustee of the Year by Florida Hospital Association. Tim is from Webster Springs, West Virginia. He received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from West Virginia University.

Previously, she was an Assistant Statewide Prosecutor with the Florida Attorney General’s Office, focusing on organized crime.     Ed Droste is a native of Waverly, Iowa, and a graduate of Iowa State University. In 1973, Ed joined U.S. Home Corp. He left in 1976 to form his own firm, Provident Management Corp., specializing in resort management in Tampa Bay, South Florida, and the Florida Keys. John was recognized nationally for work in mental health issues and later served in the Governor’s Executive Office as the first executive director of the Office of Statewide Public Guardian. In the private sector, John was executive vice president and general counsel of Liquidmetal Technologies and later formed a government consulting company.     Senator Jim Hargrett, a lifelong Tampa resident, has dedicated his career to public service.     Dr. Edison Liu is Professor of Cancer Genomics at The Jackson Laboratory, an independent, nonprofit research organization renowned for its work in mammalian genetics and functional genomics, where he previously held the positions of President and CEO, and Director of its NCI-designated cancer center (2011-2021). Prior to this, he was the founding executive director of the Genome Institute of Singapore and the president of the Human Genome Organization. He was also previously the scientific director of the National Cancer Institute’s Division of Clinical Sciences, and earlier, as a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he was responsible for its breast cancer research program. Recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Liu is known for his work on the genomic biology of breast cancer through his over 340 publications.     H. Lee Moffitt is a former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives and the founder of Moffitt Cancer Center. He chaired the Commerce Committee and the House Reapportionment Committee before being elected Speaker of the House.     Pam Stewart is the former Florida Commissioner of Education, serving as chief educational officer of Florida and administrative head of the FDOE. Pam has served for over 40 years in education, beginning her career as a schoolteacher and continuing as a guidance counselor, testing/research specialist, assistant principal, and principal at both elementary and high school levels. Currently, Pam serves as Executive Director of the nonprofit, Florida League of International Baccalaureate Schools. In 2004, she joined FDOE’s Division of Public Schools as deputy chancellor for educator quality. Pam served as deputy superintendent for academic services in St. Johns County and, in 2011 was named chancellor of public schools before being appointed as commissioner of education in 2013.
