Basal Cell Carcinoma, Melanoma, Skin Cancer (Nonmelanoma)Dr. Saldanha is a medical oncologist in the Department of Cutaneous Oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute and an assistant professor in the department of oncologic sciences at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Saldanha specializes in early drug development, with a focus on phase I clinical trials for melanoma and cutaneous malignancies. He has a particular interest in uveal melanoma and rare skin cancers.
His clinical research focuses on proof-of-concept and proof-of-mechanism studies, as well as biomarker-driven early-phase clinical trials, with an emphasis on cutaneous and rare malignancies. His translational research centers on the clinical application of circulating nucleic acid biomarkers and the integration of large-scale omics data to advance personalized cancer care.
Before joining Moffitt Cancer Center, Dr. Figueiredo Saldanha completed an advanced clinical research fellowship in melanoma, skin malignancies and adoptive cellular therapy for solid tumors. He then completed a fellowship in the Bras Drug Development and Phase I/Experimental Therapeutics Program within the Division of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the University of Toronto and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada.
