Miles for Moffitt starting gate

TAMPA, Fla. – It’s that time of year again when runners, walkers, patients and the entire Tampa Bay community come together for one cause: to raise funds for innovative cancer research. Going into its 18th year, Miles for Moffitt presented by AutoNation is back as registration officially opens.

Last year broke records with more than 7,700 participants filling Ford Thunder Alley at Amalie Arena and raising over $1.4 million. The cancer center is looking forward to another big year with a fundraising goal of $1.7 million.

Since its inception in 2006, Miles for Moffitt has raised $11 million, helping Moffitt Cancer Center researchers pilot new discoveries to create groundbreaking and advanced treatments that improve the lives of cancer patients. The funding also aids the cancer center in gaining millions more in additional federal support.

“Miles for Moffitt is so important to the Tampa Bay area, and each year we are always overwhelmed by the support we receive from the community,” said Maria Muller, president of the Moffitt Foundation. “This year, we are excited to continue our efforts and build on the momentum for lifesaving cancer research that's at the core of Moffitt’s mission.”

Register for this year’s event on Nov. 18 and join the Tampa Bay community in supporting cancer research. Early registration is $25 for adults and $15 for children. Register before July 31 and receive an early bird special gift in the mail!
