TAMPA, Fla. Moffitt Cancer Center has been named one of the 2018 Top 10 Nonprofit Companies for Executive Women by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE). The recognition spotlights organizations that identify and advance women through their ranks. The announcement will be featured in the April/May issue of Working Mother and on workingmother.com.

“We are thrilled that NAFE recognized Moffitt’s commitment to the advancement of women into leadership and top executive positions,” said Mariana Bugallo-Muros, Moffitt’s vice president and chief human resources officer. “With nearly three-fourths of our workforce comprised of women, it’s critical that we support and enrich a culture that acknowledges successful women and rewards and celebrates their achievements.”

Moffitt made it on the Top 10 list because of its strong workforce profile, women’s issues and advancement, and company culture and work life programs.

Team members at Moffitt enjoy plenty of flexibility and opportunity as they grow their careers while having families. Benefits such as education assistance and backup child and elder care help Moffitt recruit and retain the very best. Parental leave offers team members an additional four weeks of paid leave and job protection beyond the 12 weeks provided by the Family and Medical Leave Act, paying 100 percent of a team member’s salary.

The NAFE Top 10 Nonprofit Companies for 2018 are Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, Bon Secours Virginia Health System, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Moffitt Cancer Center, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, Scripps Health, TriHealth, WellStar Health System and Yale New Haven Hospital. The full report can be found here.

“The NAFE Top 10 Nonprofit Companies shine as workplaces where women excel,” says Betty Spence, president of NAFE. “All in the health care field, these organizations offer women opportunities to move to senior leadership that women haven’t found to the same extent in the private sector. NAFE is pleased to honor them for their work and for the example they provide.”

This is not the first time Moffitt has been recognized for its commitment to women in the workforce. The cancer center has been on Working Mother Magazine’s 100 Best Companies list nine times.
