PHILADELPHIA Moffitt Cancer Center’s Enterprise Project Management Team has been recognized as a winner of Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Office of the Year award. This award honors a group that has demonstrated superior organizational project management abilities by adding value to its organization through its support of successful strategic initiatives.

Moffitt’s Enterprise Project Management Team was instrumental in the First Connect initiative. This approach ensures patients can speak directly to a cancer expert from their care team within one business day of contacting Moffitt for an appointment.

“Congratulations to the Moffitt Enterprise Project Management Team,” said Yvette Tremonti, executive vice president and chief financial and administrative officer of Moffitt. “This team was formed in early 2019 as part of Moffitt’s new Process & Project Management Office to ensure we deliver on our strategic plan and equip others along the way.  I’m impressed by how this team has matured itself and helped the organization do the same. The team’s collaborative approach with other shared services colleagues and operational areas is exemplary. I am proud of this team for achieving this prestigious award and the service to our patients it represents.”

Since 1974, the prestigious PMI Professional Awards have honored organizations and changemakers whose passion, talent and expertise have made the greatest contributions to the project management profession. The 2021 PMI Professional Awards were announced during PMI’s October Virtual Experience Series event: New World. New Challenges. New Solutions

“The 2021 PMI Professional Award honorees truly embody what it means to be an outstanding project professional – especially during a time of unprecedented circumstances,” said Michael DePrisco, chief operating officer of Project Management Institute. “These changemakers will continue to drive transformation and exemplify the value that effective project management brings to their organizations each day.”
