TAMPA, Fla. Moffitt Cancer Center has been named one of the Foundry’s Computerworld 2024 Best Places to Work in IT. This award recognizes the top organizations that challenge their IT staffs while providing great benefits and compensation.

This year Moffitt ranked 36 among large organizations with 5,000 or more employees and is the only National Cancer Institute cancer center on the list.

“I know that sometimes our team members are referred to as our greatest asset. However, I think that they are so much more than that. Each of the IT professionals working at Moffitt is a real person, with aspirations, families and life outside of the cancer center,” said Joyce Oh, vice president and chief information officer at Moffitt. “As leaders, we need to understand the challenges and needs of our people so they can bring their very best to work, every day. Whether that’s via figuring out remote working arrangements, or developing career ladders, or performing regular market adjustments, our talented team members need to know they are being heard, respected and valued for what they do. This is a belief and culture that is paramount for us, and I’m so glad to see it reflected via this designation as one of the best places to work in IT.”

Since 1994, the annual Best Places to Work in IT feature has ranked the top work environments for technology professionals. The list is compiled based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits; career development; diversity, equity and inclusion; future of work; training; and retention. In addition, this year, the rankings are reviewed and vetted by a panel of industry experts.

“Technology is playing an increasingly important role in modern business. IT professionals continue to benefit from this trend, as this year’s winning organizations increase staffing and offer a variety of pathways to upskill, reskill and diversify their teams,” said Rob O’Regan, global director, content strategy, Foundry. “These companies provide a model for IT and HR leaders who are looking for new ways to attract, engage and retain talent in an increasingly competitive IT environment.”
