TAMPA, Fla. — Ken Jones has been appointed to Moffitt Cancer Center’s Institute Board of Directors, joining 26 other prominent figures who serve on the cancer center’s parent board of directors.

Jones has been appointed as the designee of Brian Lamb, chair of Florida’s Board of Governors, to serve on Moffitt’s Board of Directors, replacing Alan Levine who was appointed to the position in 2019.

“We are thrilled to have Ken Jones join our board of directors,” said Patrick Hwu, M.D., Moffitt president and CEO. “Ken is an influential business leader, and we know his experience and acumen will only help us to accelerate our work to prevent and cure cancer.”

Prior to joining CEA in 2005, Jones spent most of the previous decade in legal, government and executive management positions in Washington, D.C., where he served as chief legal counsel and deputy chief of staff for former U.S. Senate majority leader Trent Lott and the Senate Rules & Administration Committee. While working for Lott, Jones also served as the general counsel and senior advisor to the 55th presidential inauguration of George W. Bush. Prior to the U.S. Senate, Jones practiced law at the Washington, D.C., law firm Patton Boggs. In 2012, he also served as the president and CEO of the Republican National Convention, which was held in Tampa.

“I am honored to serve on Moffitt’s Institute Board of Directors,” Jones said. “As a Florida native, I know this devastating disease affects so many in our state. I look forward to serving on the board and contributing to the lifesaving work being done at Moffitt Cancer Center.”
