TAMPA, Fla. - The 2022 Miles for Moffitt presented by AutoNation is expecting more than 7,200 participants and counting. On Saturday morning, Moffitt Cancer Center patients, team members and supporters will hit the pavement running, walking or wheeling for a great cause: cancer research.

As the cancer center’s premier fundraising event returns for its 17th year, the community has raised over $1.15 million.

This year’s hosts will be 10 Tampa Bay anchors Frank Wiley and Caitlin Lockerbie, Univision anchor David Perez Hansen, as well as Moffitt’s very own Joshua Rivera. Participants will also get to enjoy a new feature to the event, the Miles for Moffitt Party Deck, where DJ Ekin from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be keeping the party going throughout the morning.

Stop by Moffitt’s Mole Patrol for a free skin cancer screening. A spirit tent will offer temporary tattoos, and a kids zone will have fun for the whole family. Coffee and refreshments will be available. Spectators can also stop for a picture with their favorite Tampa Bay mascots, Raymond, Pelican Pete, Captain Fear and ThunderBug.

There’s still time to participate in Miles for Moffitt. On-site registration and packet pickup will be available until 7 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to arrive well before 6 a.m. when Water Street and Channelside Drive road closures begin.

For those participating virtually, a live broadcast will be available on the Moffitt Cancer Center Facebook page as the ceremony starts at 6 a.m.

Join the fun and show your Moffitt spirit by tagging your social posts with #MilesforMoffitt.

Over the past 17 years, Miles for Moffitt has raised more than $10 million supporting lifesaving cancer research at Moffitt and has gained millions in additional federal support.
