WHO:              Moffitt Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center based in Florida, and the Tampa Bay Lightning will host the 2018 Skate-A-Thon to support cancer research and patient services at the cancer center.

WHAT:             Have you ever wanted to take the ice at AMALIE Arena like the Tampa Bay Lightning? Join us for Skate-A-Thon with Lightning alumni players, the Lightning Girls and ThunderBug. Choose from one of two 45-minute open-skate sessions and bring your own gear. Tickets are $35 for skaters and $10 for nonskaters.

Looking for fun off the ice? Our Moffitt Healthy KIDZ activity zone will have a photo booth with props, as well as a silent auction featuring Lightning autographed memorabilia (think Steven Stamkos, Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov) and a VIP tour of AMALIE Arena plus an opportunity for four to watch a Lightning private practice.

“Whether you’re comfortable on or off the ice, Skate-A-Thon has something for the whole family to enjoy,” said Matt Kupec, executive vice president, chief philanthropy officer and president of the Moffitt Foundation. "What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon while giving back to the cause — supporting cancer research?”
