What does it take to oversee Moffitt’s massive clinical operations and ensure a world-class patient experience? Just ask Sarabdeep “Sabi” Singh, our executive vice president, chief operating officer and hospital president.

He joined the cancer center in July 2021 and is focused on meeting team members and observing and absorbing the Moffitt way. Ultimately he wants to determine how we can shape our processes and systems to enhance outcomes and improve our patients’ and families’ experience. Meet Sabi Singh.

To be a part of that history and be part of something bigger in health care is exciting.

FAVORITE APP Spotify. He doesn’t have the talent to play music, but he loves listening to folk music, Jazz and classical. His favorite musicians are Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash.

DOWN TIME Both his daughter and son play tennis, so naturally he’s there to cheer them on for every match. When he isn’t courtside, he and his family enjoy traveling, hiking and riding bikes.

SCREEN TIME No Netflix recommendations here, but he loves cooking as a stress reliever. His wife got him a MasterClass subscription and he’s been whipping up culinary delights from various cuisines. His favorite go-to food is Indian comfort. Think roti (buttery Indian flatbread) and dal (side dish made of simmered and spiced legumes such as lentils).

CANCER CONNECTION Unfortunately, cancer is very personal to him. His father — who never smoked — passed away from lung cancer in the early ’60s. It was heartbreaking for him to watch his father’s condition deteriorate.

WHY MOFFITT? The work at the cancer center is truly transforming lives. We’re contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer, especially when it comes to cutting-edge cell therapies. “To be a part of that history and be part of something bigger in health care is exciting. Once I met with the team here at Moffitt, it sealed the deal,” said Singh.

“I feel so blessed to be part of a cancer center where we’re making a difference in people’s lives. I switched careers from the automotive industry to health care because of my wife, and honestly, I believe this has been the best decision for me. I’m looking forward to what we’ll be able to accomplish together for Moffitt.”
