Doctor performing a cancer screening for thyroid

Cancer screenings are used to detect certain types of cancer early, before they produce any noticeable symptoms. In general, the earlier cancer is detected, the more likely it is to be treated effectively – and the less invasive the treatment will need to be. For this reason, the American Cancer Society recommends that adults receive appropriate cancer screenings on a regular basis as determined by guidelines established for men and women in specific age groups. Moffitt Cancer Center provides a list of cancer screening guidelines for men and women for your reference.
