    Study Title:

    Developing a Longitudinal Health Initiative to Positively Impact the Cardiovascular and Cancer Health of Black/African-American Men Nationally - The Kappa Alpha Psi Health Impact Initiative (KAPHII)

    Summary:

    The study will provide insights into health disparities and the importance of tailored health interventions. This information can inform policies and programs to reduce health disparities and increase health equity across different populations. Additionally, the study will contribute to developing more culturally sensitive and effective healthcare practices, potentially improving patient-provider relationships and increasing patient satisfaction.

    Objective:

    1) to explore those socio-demographic and psycho-social factors that might account for the observed differences in the health of Black/African American men (B/AA); 2) to identify factors that may positively influence B/AA men to participate in health promotion/prevention activities.

  • Inclusion Criteria

      Key Inclusion Criteria:
    • Black/African American men between the ages of 21 and above.
    • Additional criteria may apply.
  • Exclusion Criteria

      Key Exclusion Criteria:
    • Participants who do not speak or read English, as well as wards of the state, will be excluded from the study.
    • Additional criteria may apply.
