Melissa Conner

Chief Enterprise Risk Officer

Melissa Conner is the chief enterprise risk officer at Moffitt Cancer Center. In this role, she oversees Moffitt’s audit, compliance and risk programs. 

Prior to joining Moffitt, Conner spent more than 20 years in the financial services industry. She most recently served as the head of Process Excellence at Capital One, where she was accountable for the governance and oversight of risk activities for the credit card line of business. Conner brings to Moffitt experience spanning cross-functional project delivery, risk management and compliance, regulatory relations and technology.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration and a master's degree in business administration, both from the University of Richmond where she serves as the immediate past chair of the Robins School of Business Executive Advisory Council.

As a community advocate, Conner most recently served as a board committee member of CancerLINC, a central Virginia non-profit organization devoted to connecting cancer patients and their families with legal, financial and community resources to solve the non-medical obstacles that arise with a cancer diagnosis.
