Summer VolunTeen Program

The VolunTeen program is for students ages 15-17, who have completed their first year of high school, and is designed to expose teens to healthcare careers while receiving hands-on volunteer experience. For those students 18 years of age at the time of application, you are welcome to apply to the student/adult program for the summer session. 

Applications for the 2021 Moffitt Summer VolunTeen program are now open! The VolunTeen program will run from Tuesday, June 1st – Friday, August 6th. Teens will be expected to volunteer on the same weekday, each week, for the duration of the summer program. 

The application is a 2 part process: Electronic application submission is due by 5pm on Monday, May 3rd and the VolunTeen applicant packet is due by 5pm on Friday, May 7th. Interviews will be conducted via zoom during the week of May 10-14. Acceptance into the VolunTeen program is limited and competitive.  Early application submission is encouraged, as interviews will be scheduled as complete applications are received. 

Teens accepted into the program will be required to:

  • Attend a mandatory orientation  

  • Purchase a VolunTeen uniform shirt for $15

  • Teens that are selected to participate will need to provide proof of negative TB screening from either the TB skin test (TST) or TB blood test. If TB screening confirmation is not received, teens will forfeit their acceptance.
