The Department of Pathology at Moffitt Cancer Center offers a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship. The Head and Neck, Endocrine Pathology Fellowship will provide a broad exposure, along with in-depth training in all aspects of neoplastic and non-neoplastic head and neck and endocrine pathology. Opportunity exists to enhance the diagnostic and clinical correlative skills and competency of the fellow in order to be able to pursue a successful career in the academic and community hospital practice settings. The training will include the gross assessment, frozen section interpretation, as well as complete evaluation of the biopsy and surgical specimens derived from different head and neck sites (i.e., oral cavity, sinonasal tract, pharynx, larynx, trachea, salivary glands, neck, and ear/temporal bone) and endocrine organs (i.e., thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, adrenal gland, paraganglia).

In addition, the existence of a busy Expert Pathology Consultation Service will provide the fellow with the opportunity to review difficult and challenging diagnostic cases coming from hospitals around the country. The fellow will work under the supervision of the pathology attendings with renowned expertise in Head and Neck Endocrine pathology. The fellow will have graded clinical responsibilities through the course of the fellowship and one protected month off service to focus on research projects. Integration with the Head and Neck Endocrine Oncology Program includes participation in weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards.
