TAMPA, Fla.  Moffitt Cancer Center is thrilled to announce the addition of three new board members. Ashley Bell Barnett and Sareet Majumdar have been appointed to the Foundation Board of Directors and Dr. Katherine Chung-Bridges has been appointed to the Moffitt Medical Group Board of Directors.

“We are fortunate to have Ashley Bell Barnett, Sareet Majumdar and Dr. Katherine Chung-Bridges joining Moffitt’s boards,” said Tim Adams, chair of Moffitt’s Institute Board of Directors. “Our boards play a critical role in shaping Moffitt’s vision and accelerating our mission. Growing them and adding fresh perspectives diversifies our collective expertise and drives forward thinking.”

Bell Barnett has served on the Polk State College District Board of Trustees since 2018 and has held numerous leadership roles within the Polk State College Foundation Board. She is also involved in various organizations including the United Way of Central Florida Board of Directors, Southwest Florida Water Management District and Lakeland Regional Hospital Foundation Board.

Majumdar has been the president and CEO of ICTC, a global contract manufacturer specialized in electronics manufacturing, since 2007. Prior to that, he served as CEO of IC Intracom Asia group. He is also active on the boards of IC Intracom Mexico and the Community Foundation Tampa Bay. He serves on the Florida Council of 100, which promotes economic growth and strives to improve quality of life for the people of the state.

Chung-Bridges has served as director of research at Health Choice Network, a nationally recognized collaboration of community health centers, since October 2020. Prior to joining HCN, she was an assistant professor in the Division of Family Medicine, as well as the lead physician, at the Linda Fenner 3D Mobile Mammography Center at Florida International University, Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.

Moffitt’s Foundation Board oversees fundraising on behalf of and makes contributions to support the cancer center and its mission in the areas of cancer research, patient care and education. The Moffitt Medical Group Board oversees the operation of the medical practice of the physicians and other medical professionals who staff the hospital and who provide clinical research services to the cancer center.
