Research

Dr. Turner is an implementation scientist and health services researcher. Her research aims to improve the quality of cancer care delivery by evaluating implementation of evidence-based interventions and policies and assessing whether effective implementation improves patient outcomes. Her work has especially focused on the implementation of informatics interventions, such as telemedicine, and medication management and patient safety interventions. As an example, she recently led a study supported by the Community Pharmacy Foundation that examined what factors contributed to successful implementation of a medication management intervention for Medicaid patients with multiple chronic conditions. She is also actively collaborating on a National Institute of Aging funded study examining implementation of hospital falls prevention and a Health Resources and Services Administration funded study examining implementation of telemedicine for rural hospitals.
