Moffitt Cancer Center Showcases Research and Innovation at 14th Annual Business of Biotech Conference
TAMPA, Fla. — Discussion of advancements in cancer treatment, patient care improvement, and fundraising strategies is on the agenda at Moffitt Cancer Center’s 14th annual Business of Biotech Conference: Setting the Pace in the Cancer Race. The event brings together research organizations, entrepreneurs and investors, biomedical companies and startups each year, as well as collaborations, partnership and networking opportunities. This year, the conference takes place Friday, Feb. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Moffitt’s Vincent A. Stabile Research Building.

This year’s interview-style keynote features Alice Jacobs, M.D., who is recognized as a physician, entrepreneur, inventor and investor. Jacobs not only successfully brought multiple products through the Food and Drug Administration and onto five continents during her time at Harvard Medical School, but also developed a further understanding of the cerebral cortex through her independent research in neuroscience. She holds numerous patents and has been recognized by Scientific American as one of the top 50 innovators and by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader.
“We are excited to have Dr. Jacobs as this year’s keynote address speaker,” said Scott. “Her foundational achievements and their unlimited potential to change the world for good are an inspiration for all who are seeking growth in their research and experience.”
In addition to Jacob’s appearance, the conference will also include four informative breakout sessions and tours of Moffitt’s hospital and research facilities.
