Many people experience feelings of unease and withdrawal as they transition from cancer patient to cancer survivor. Additionally, after the physical rigors of treatment subside and a patient begins to fully process the impact of cancer on his or her life, feelings of anxiety and depression may emerge. At Moffitt Cancer Center, we understand the importance of providing ongoing care after the completion of cancer treatment.

To assist our genitourinary cancer patients as they move beyond diagnosis and treatment and begin to navigate the complexities of survivorship, Moffitt has established a comprehensive Genitourinary Cancers Survivorship Clinic. As part of this initiative, we are building trusted partnerships with community physicians. Together, we can help each patient achieve the best possible outcome and quality of life.

Moffitt’s Genitourinary Cancers Survivorship Clinic focuses on wellness

As a national leader in the development and delivery of survivorship care, Moffitt partners with each patient and referring physician to provide a fully coordinated and individualized experience. Our Genitourinary Cancers Survivorship Clinic is designed to shift a patient’s focus away from treatment and onto wellness. Our services include:

  • Cancer screenings
  • Surveillance for cancer recurrence and late effects of cancer and its treatment
  • Nutritional guidance
  • Exercise recommendations
  • Emotional support

While many cancer centers face challenges in developing survivorship care plans, Moffitt has made great strides in delivering patient- and family-centered care for survivors. Our program is designed to complement primary care.
