L. David de La Parte, Esq.

David de la Parte is the President, SPEROS FL and Moffitt Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Mr. de la Parte is responsible for the legal affairs of Moffitt and oversees the strategic alliances department, risk management department, corporate compliance, diversity, public relations and government relations.

Mr. de la Parte joined the Cancer Center in 2007 to establish its in-house General Counsel office after leaving de la Parte & Gilbert, P.A. as its managing partner. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University in 1983 and his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law in 1985.

Mr. de la Parte is admitted to The Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit since 1986. He also is a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, the American and Florida Bar Associations, and was the founding chair of the Hillsborough County Bar Association Health Law Section. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Florida Hospital Association Academy of Healthcare Attorneys.

Mr. de la Parte is past chair of the District 6 Health and Human Services Board for Hillsborough and Manatee Counties. In 1995, he was appointed by then Governor Lawton Chiles to serve as co-chair of the Governor’s Special Panel on Child Protection, which investigated the death of Lucas Ciambrone. He is past chair of AMIkids Tampa and AMIkids Youth Environmental Services board of directors, programs for the rehabilitation of delinquent youth. He serves as a board member for OncoBay Clinical, Inc., a wholly-owned, for profit-subsidiary of Moffitt Cancer Center whose mission is to support drug developers and physicians in discovering the cure for cancer.

Mr. de la Parte is a former Commissioner of the Florida Board of Pilot Commissioners, and in 2011 was chosen to serve on the search committee to select the dean of the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences at the University of South Florida.

Mr. de la Parte is considered an "AV" rated attorney by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which is the highest rating conferred for legal skills and ethical conduct. He has been recognized by Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida’s "Legal Elite." He was named 2018 Top Corporate Counsel by the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
