John J. Allgeier, CPA, CHFP

John Allgeier is the vice president of Development, Construction and Operations for SPEROS FL, a Moffitt Cancer Center expansion project that encompasses 775 acres in Pasco County, Florida. 

John has more than 20 years of healthcare finance, construction and real estate experience. He has served in various financial roles over the last 16 years at Moffitt including senior director, Finance. In that role, he was responsible for all aspects of the corporate financial operations of the organization. He managed the operations of the Accounting, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Financial Reporting, Payroll, Tax, Purchasing, Receiving and Research Finance departments.     

He most recently held the role of the director, Construction and Real Estate Finance for the last five years where he supported the organization’s significant strategic growth plans, which include a new 400,000-square-foot expansion hospital that opened in July 2023, expanded satellite location strategy and initial and ongoing strategic planning for the SPEROS FL campus.  

In addition to his time at Moffitt, he spent six years with Ernst & Young, LLC in the audit practice focused on for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare entities.

John holds a bachelor of science degree from the University of Dayton and a master's of business administration from the University of Louisville. He is a certified public accountant (Florida, Kentucky) and a Healthcare Financial Management Association certified healthcare finance professional.
