Cathy Grant, MPA, CDM

Vice President, Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer

Cathy Grant is the Vice President, Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, at Moffitt Cancer Center. She joined the cancer center in 2006 and most recently was senior director of Moffitt Diversity. Grant provides leadership for the cancer center's Enterprise Equity strategy, a collaborative model for advancing equity through shared leadership across Moffitt.

During her tenure, the cancer center has advanced to become a nationally recognized diversity, equity and inclusion leader. She oversees an interdisciplinary team of professionals focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, cultural and linguistic competence, language access, and supplier diversity.   

Moffitt's diversity, equity and inclusion strategy has been recognized by several leading institutions.  DiversityInc has highlighted Moffitt on its annual list of Top Hospitals and Health Systems for several consecutive years, and the Human Rights Campaign has designated the cancer center as a Leader in LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality consistently over the past decade. In 2021, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency recognized Moffitt as a National Minority Enterprise Development Week Award Winner for the Distinguished Supplier Diversity Award.

Notable programs established during Grant’s tenure include the model for Team Member Engagement Networks, Supplier Diversity Program, policies that guide language access for limited English proficient patients and families, and guidelines for gender transition in the workplace.

Grant is a graduate of City University of New York, where she earned a Master of Public Administration. She has also earned a Certificate in Diversity Management in Health Care from Georgetown University and the Institute for Diversity & Health Equity. She serves as a member of the Institute for Diversity & Health Equity American Leadership Council, the Alliance of Dedicated Cancer Centers' Health Equity Committee, and is a member of the Board of Trustees and co-chair of the Governance Committee for the Tampa Museum of Art. Grant is also a graduate of Leadership Tampa 2020.
