Since 1999 the Moffitt Program for Outreach Wellness Education and Resources (M-POWER) has provided the community with health education in the areas of prevention, early detection, and screening.
Through a range of programs, community members learn about resources they can then continue to share in their own communities. Health education programs and health fairs help participants understand the importance of cancer prevention and early detection.
Health educators and community outreach workers provide workshops on the following topics:
- Skin Cancers
- Healthy Lifestyle
- Clinical Trials
Programs are presented in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, with consideration of the cultural, linguistic and health literacy needs of the community.
Patient Navigator Services
The patient navigator helps patients gain access to Moffitt services and navigate them through the entire experience from getting transportation, to being screened to diagnosis and treatment, if needed.
