RET staff members at AACR

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) holds an annual conference to support the cancer research community in sharing the latest advances in cancer science and medicine. This year, the AACR annual meeting was held in San Diego, California, on April 5-10.

The AACR Cancer and Biomedical Research Career fair took place on the second day of the event. This event allowed the time and opportunity for cancer centers and other cancer-related organizations to connect with job seekers, an activity that the office of Research Education and Training (RET) at Moffitt Cancer Center participated in.

“I enjoyed the opportunity to speak with scientists from around the world about our approach to research education & training, and hopefully some of them will join Moffitt as graduate students, postdocs, research scientists, or faculty members," said Leanna Smithberger, PhD, the Program Administrator for the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.

The RET staff enjoyed sharing resources and opportunities at Moffitt has that make it a unique environment for early career scientists.
