    Study Title:

    Mindfulness-Based Ecological Momentary Intervention For Smoking Cessation Among Cancer Survivors

    Summary:

    This Study will develop and test a mindfulness-based intervention targeting cancer-specific smoking vulnerabilities through a multi-step process.

    Objective:

    Aim 1. To develop a mindfulness-based EMI (mindEMI) targeting cancer-specific smoking vulnerabilities through an iterative multi-step process Aim 2. To pilot test the mindEMI among cancer survivors

  • Inclusion Criteria

      Inclusion Criteria:
    • Participants must be 18 years of age or older
    • Participants must have smoked at least one cigarette (even one or two puffs) within the past 30 days
    • Participants must be willing to give quitting smoking a try as part of the Study
    • Participants must have been diagnosed with cancer
    • Participants must have a valid home address and functioning phone number
    • Participants must be able to read, write, and speak English
    • Participants must have a smart phone that allows installation of the app for the Study
  • Exclusion Criteria

      Exclusion Criteria:
    • Participants enrolled in a smoking cessation program are excluded
    • Participants must not have evidence of current psychosis
    • Participants must not currently be pregnant/planning a pregnancy
    • Participants must not currently be lactating
