Moffitt Cancer Center’s Gastroenterology Program performs today’s most advanced endoscopic procedures for gastrointestinal conditions, including cancerous and noncancerous diagnoses. Using highly precise, minimally invasive techniques, Moffitt’s gastroenterologists are able to accomplish the following:

  • Remove cancerous cells, inflamed tissues, pre-cancerous polyps or diseased sections of the digestive tract
  • Conduct digital Spyglass© cholangioscopies,
  • Evaluate abnormal tissue in the gastrointestinal tract and differentiate types of pancreatic cysts with Cellvizio® optical biopsies
  • Destroy abnormal tissues through cryotherapy and radiofrequency ablation (RFA)
  • Place a gallbladder drainage stent
  • Remove bile duct stones
  • Place small markers in or near a tumor to guide radiation therapy
  • Stage gastrointestinal cancers
  • Correct a failed previous bile duct cannulation
