When doctors diagnosed Brenda Schlagenhauf with breast cancer last year, she knew she would receive the best possible treatment at Moffitt Cancer Center as a patient and team member. Schlagenhauf has been a systems analyst in Moffitt’s Research IT department for 26 years. She was able to take time off and adjust her schedule while going through cancer treatment.
“We are proud to be recognized as a best place to work in IT for the third consecutive year,” said Jennifer Greenman, Moffitt’s vice president and chief information officer.
Schlagenhauf says she’s proud to advance Moffitt’s mission by providing innovative technology for researchers. Over the past quarter century, she’s also taken advantage of continuing education and professional development opportunities to advance her IT skills.
Moffitt’s commitment to work-life balance offers her a flexible schedule and the ability to work from home. “I feel like they care about their employees,” Schlagenhauf said. “We’re treated like family. It’s not like a corporation where you are just a number. There’s a lot of compassion from the management on down.”
Computerworld has ranked the Best Places to Work in IT since 1994 based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention, as well as extensive surveys with IT employees. This is the second year in a row that Moffitt was ranked 31 on the list.
