2018 Moffitt Scientific Symposium

This annual event showcases the exciting research that is being conducted at Moffitt Cancer Center. The day includes oral and poster presentations by researchers at Moffitt. The Symposium will also feature five faculty oral presentations. The day's events will culminate with the announcement of the recipients of the 2017 Milestone Awards, Junior Scientist Partnership Awards, Clinical and Research Mentors of the Year Awards and the top Poster Presenters of the day.

Call for Abstracts
Clinical Fellows, Post-Doctoral Fellows, Residents, Graduate Students, Undergraduate Students, Research Scientists and Staff Scientists conducting research at the Cancer Center are invited to submit an abstract for this event (limit one abstract per person). Early submission of your abstract is encouraged as space is limited. The Abstract Submission site will open on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 8:00 AM. Please note that the abstract submission site closed on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 5:00 PM.
Twelve (12) individuals will be selected from the submitted abstracts to give an Oral Presentation: three from each of the following 4 categories: basic science research, clinical science research, population science research and translational science research.
Monetary awards will be given to all individuals selected to give an oral presentation as well as the top eight posters (two in each of the four categories) as selected by event attendees!
Mentor of the Year Nominations
Nominations will be accepted from trainees for the Mentor of the Year Awards until March 30, 2018. There will be one award for a clinical mentor and one award for a research mentor. The winning nomination for Research Mentor of the Year will be selected by a committee of Moffitt postdoctoral fellows and graduate students based on the criteria in the guidelines; the winning nomination for Clinical Mentor of the Year will be selected by a committee of Moffitt clinical fellows and residents based on the criteria in the guidelines.
