Fighting Cancer with Mathematics and Viruses
The laboratory of Daniel Abate-Daga, in collaboration with members of the Integrated Mathematical Oncology group, has published a review that made the cover of the journal "Viruses." The work discusses the potential of mathematical modeling to enhance the efficacy and safety of oncolytic viruses. The team discusses how increasingly complex models can be applied to account for therapeutically relevant parameters such as components of the immune system. Current developments in oncolytic virotherapy and mathematical modeling are discussed, along with the benefit of integrating different modeling approaches into biological and clinical experimentation.
