About the art in this issue:
Sofía Cáceres was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, where she resides. She is currently studying Humanities at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras campus. Sofía started her formal art training at the Central High School of Visual Arts in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Although only 20 years of age, she has already earned several awards, including honorable mention in visual arts in the 2007 National Foundation for Advancement of the Arts (NFAA/youngARTS) competition on the Island. Sofía has explored conventional and unconventional media including oil and acrylic on canvas, watercolor and colored pencils on table, mixed media, and collage on table.
