    Cancer Focus:
Cutaneous Lymphoma (CTCL), Hodgkin Lymphoma, Leukemia, MDS, Multiple Myeloma-Plasma Cell Tumor, Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS), Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma

Dr. Dahui Qin received his MD from the Southeast University, Medical College, Nanjing, China and his PhD from the Medical College of Virginia in immunology. He completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Miami, and is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology. He did his molecular genetic pathology fellowship at the University of North Carolina and is also board certified in the subspecialty of molecular genetic pathology. He was appointed Assistant Professor for two years in the department of Microbiology and Immunology, Medical College of Virginia, and then joined the faculty at Moffitt Cancer Center as Assistant Member in the Department of Anatomic Pathology in November 2006, moving to the Department of Hematopathology and Laboratory Medicine in 2009 as Medical Director of the Molecular Pathology Laboratory. He was promoted to Associate Member in 2013. Dr. Qin’s clinical focus is in Molecular Diagnostics. He established modern oncologic molecular testing at Moffitt Cancer Center in 2009. Since then, the lab has been growing exponentially, performing a wide menu of clinical testing that includes BCR/ABL quantitative PCR for CML and ALL; T and B cell gene rearrangement for lymphoma patients; chimerism for bone marrow transplant engraftment monitoring; CYP2C19 for pharmacogenomics; IDH1/2 Sequenom assay and MGMT methylation assay for central nervous system tumors; EGFR, BRAF, PIK3, NRAS and KRAS mutation pyrosequencing tests for solid tumors; next generation sequencing for solid tumors and myeloid leukemias. His research interests include improving molecular diagnostic techniques in clinical practice and developing new molecular assays to support clinical research and clinical trials; quality control of molecular diagnostic assays, next generation sequencing and molecular diagnosis; the association of genomic mutations with oncogenesis, diagnosis and therapeutic options. Dr. Qin is an active Clinician Educator who has been involved in teaching medical students, residents, fellows and visiting scholars. He is also involved in training technologists and scientists in the molecular laboratory.

    Overall Satisfaction

    0

    0 patients rated this provider

The Provider Rating is an average of all responses to specific care provider-related questions from our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score.

Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question.

    Comments

Comments are gathered from specific care provider-related questions from our Patient Satisfaction Survey . The comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions. Patients are de-identified for confidentiality and patient privacy.

We post both positive and negative comments from the surveys. We do not post comments that are libelous, slanderous, profane, irrelevant or otherwise inappropriate or may risk the privacy of our patients. A “[…]” in the comments below indicates de-identified patient information or comments that are unrelated to the patient’s experience with the visit to the provider, such as comments related to another provider, about the survey itself, or otherwise completely off-topic.

Not all providers will have a star rating or comments. In order to ensure accuracy of our ratings, we only display ratings for providers who have a minimum of 30 completed from the previous 12 months.

Provider Ratings and comments are gathered from our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. If a provider does not have ratings or comments listed it can be for several reasons, including:

    • The provider has not yet received the minimum number of patient satisfaction surveys to be eligible for display. We require a minimum of 30 surveys before we post results to ensure that the rating is statistically reliable and a true reflection of patient satisfaction.
    • He or she may be a researcher or other type of provider that does not see patients.
    • The provider practices in a specialty or office that does not use the specified surveys currently used for these ratings.
