Do You Have a Story to Tell?
“Tell me a fact, and I’ll learn. Tell me a truth, and I’ll believe. Tell me a story and it’ll live in my heart forever…” Indian Proverb
All cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, family members and friends are invited to share their stories through several different platforms at Moffitt.
Seek and Speak Your Story
Seek and Speak Your Story program is a series of four two-hour workshops with trained facilitators to help you craft your story in a relaxed small group setting. You’ll explore who you were before cancer and may also discover a truth you’ve experienced through defining moments in your life. You may choose to share your story with family, friends and others living with cancer.
“Seek and Speak has helped me in my journey of discovery. From exploring my life and piecing together a unique story to sharing it with a group of my peers, Seek and Speak has been a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it to anyone.” Megan Wing, cancer survivor

Your Stories provides a forum for patients and family members to share their stories though expressive writing and journaling.
How to Submit Stories
All are invited to submit personal stories about life and living with cancer to the Your Stories Collection. Selected stories will be made available as an inspiration to patients, family members, friends and Moffitt staff. Your story may be in the form of an essay, poem or brief reflection. Topics may include, but are not limited to, diagnosis and treatment, finding meaning and communication with friends, family and physicians. To submit a typed copy of your story, email PatientandFamilyCenter@Moffitt.org
Drop it off at Moffitt’s Patient Library & Welcome Center located on the main hospital campus, Muriel Rothman Clinic Building, second floor, just off the B elevators or the Patient and Family Center at the Moffitt McKinley Outpatient Center on the first floor next to the pharmacy.
All stories submitted are reviewed by members of the Your Stories Collection Committee. Periodically, stories will be selected for compilation, bound and placed in the Patient Library & Welcome Center. The most recent collection will be housed at the Patient and Family Center at the Moffitt McKinley Outpatient Center. Stories may also be used in other Moffitt communication channels, such as online, newsletters, emails and journals.
If you have any questions regarding these programs, please email PatientandFamilyCenter@Moffitt.org or call 813-745-4710.
