TAMPA, Fla. – Moffitt Cancer Center has once again made the Tampa Bay Times Top Workplaces ranking for the seventh time. The Top Workplaces lists are based solely on an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Several aspects of workplace culture were measured. Of Moffitt’s more than 5,500 team members, 3,500 responded to the survey.

“The foundation of this institution is our team members. They come to work every day with the intention to make a difference and encourage our patients to stay strong and keep up the fight,” said Moffitt President and CEO Alan F. List, M.D. “Being selected as a Tampa Bay Times Top Workplace is something that will continue to drive our team members to work hard and embody our mission.”

Moffitt’s workforce rallies around one goal: to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer. It’s an opportunity to truly make a difference in the lives of our patients. Being part of the Moffitt family also takes into account work-life balance with benefits such as flex schedules, domestic partner benefits, new mothers lactation rooms and education assistance. A Team Member Health Service Center is located onsite and features a free health clinic, and our Wellness Reward Program offers medical premium discounts. The cancer center invests in team members by offering numerous career development opportunities.

Moffitt also conducts an annual team member survey to gather regular feedback and identify areas of opportunity. Quarterly town hall meetings connect leadership and team members face-to-face to foster open dialogue.

“The Top Workplaces award is not a popularity contest. And oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits,” says Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health. And who better to ask about work life than the people who live the culture every day — the employees. Time and time again, our research has proven that what’s most important to them is a strong belief in where the organization is headed, how it’s going to get there, and the feeling that everyone is in it together.”

Moffitt is among 100 companies selected for the Top Workplaces award.

Moffitt also made the Top Workplaces list in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016. The cancer center has received additional accolades including the No. 6 cancer hospital in the nation based on U.S. News & World Report, Working Mother Top 100 Company, DiversityInc Top 10 Hospital, leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality, and the Nursing Magnet Designation.
