WHO:  Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation 

WHAT:  The Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation will host its annual Moffitt Cancer Center Luncheon in Sarasota on Jan. 30 at Michael’s on the Bay at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. This year’s theme, Mission Possible, will celebrate new therapies to treat cancer, allowing attendees to hear about the latest advances in cancer treatment, screening and cutting-edge research. All proceeds from this event will support cancer research at Moffitt. Moffitt Foundation Board member Eileen Curd and her husband, Howard Curd, are this year’s presenting sponsors.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Frederick Locke, vice chair and associate member of the Department of Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy and co-leader of the Immunology Program. Locke is a national lead investigator for several multicenter studies treating aggressive lymphoma patients with CAR T cell therapy, which was named the biggest research breakthrough of 2017 by the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Since 1998, the Moffitt Cancer Center Luncheon has raised more than $1.3 million for cancer research at Moffitt.
